Kakegurui:
Plot:
Hyakkaou Private Academy. An institution for the privileged with a very peculiar curriculum. You see, when you're the sons and daughters of the wealthiest of the wealthy, it's not athletic prowess or book smarts that keep you ahead. It's reading your opponent, the art of the deal. What better way to hone those skills than with a rigorous curriculum of gambling? At Hyakkaou Private Academy, the winners live like kings, and the losers are put through the wringer. But when Yumeko Jabami enrolls, she's gonna teach these kids what a high roller really looks like!
Genre: Mystery, Psychological, School, Shounen

Fate/Apocrypha:
Plot:
The setting is a parallel world to Fate/stay night where the Greater Grail mysteriously disappeared from Fuyuki after the Third Holy Grail War. After many years of silence, around the same time as the Fifth Holy Grail War would have happened, the Yggdmillennia, a family of magi, openly declares their secession from the Mage's Association, and that they are in possession of the Grail. The Association dispatches fifty magi to retrieve it, and all but one are instantly slaughtered by a mysterious Servant. The one remaining manages to activate the reserve system of the Greater Grail, allowing for the summoning of fourteen Servants in total.
In the city of Trifas, two factions will fight for the control of the sacred relic, each of them possessing their own team of seven Servants: the Black Faction whose members are part of Yggdmillennia, protecting the Grail, and the Red Faction whose members were sent by the Mage's Association, trying to take the Grail back. For an event of this scale, the Grail itself summons its own Servant, the holy Ruler, to oversee the conflict.
This marks the start of the Great Holy Grail War.

"I will run as fast as I can to wherever my customer desires. I am the Auto Memories Doll, Violet Evergarden."

This is not the entire stuff, for more anime, go to this place:
https://myanimelist.net/anime/season

I'm probably going to wait till the end of the season before I start a show. Nothing seems interesting to me. And, most anime that are the 2nd or 3rd seasons of an anime are unfamiliar to me.

What about you? Which anime are you planning to start this season?

I watched kagegurui ep 1 and removed it from my plan to watch list. It's not bad its just a little too generic. And except that hajime no gal anime, I'm watching everything else with a passion. It kind of blew me away that violet evergarden was already airing, I thought it was coming next year or something.

I haven't heard of any title in your list. What would be your primary recommendation?

I see. I was kinda looking forward to Kagegurui. That's a bummer. The only one I'm probably looking forward to is Fate/Apocrypha. I guess it wouldn't be bad to watch another Fate anime.

No idea, really. I'm planning to wait till the season gets over. You may find a worthwhile Summer 2017 anime here:

New anime would mean just one episode per week, and we won't be able to discuss much. Plus, as the week goes on, if it becomes boring, that'd be detrimental.

Probably should watch Violet Evergarden, cause KyoAni is that good, but I prefer how Mahoutsukai no Yome looks ._.

I imagine you don't have enough time to watch both.
IMO, Hyouka is my favourite work of Kyoto. It's the only anime(of the ones I've seen made by them), that have normal looking faces, especially that of women.

Then we can watch new and old anime at the same time. Then it wouldn't be a problem

Right =) By the way, can you watch the tv anime without having seen the OVAs?

I see. It's the same for me. Uni has become extremely hectic, and not even one week has passed since vacation got over.

Exactly. I was at a loss for words to describe that. I've only watched Clannad and its sequel, other than Hyouka. All of the anime you mentioned are in my watch list. No time though.

Oh yeah, can't compare Clannad girl designs with Hyouka's : D Look up Air anime, this is the style closer to Clannad, it is as if it was some weird artistic movement or something, with enormous eyes set wide apart. First season of Haruhi inherited some of this art style too, though it is toned down.

I'm still not sure about watching new anime. None of them interest me.

Is that so? But you could at least give one a try.

I see. That's something that kind of takes me away from the anime. It's one of the reasons why I prefer Lucy's design over Nyu in Elfen lied. Lucy looked pretty cool, whereas Nyu reminded me I was watching an anime every time she was on screen. And, that's probably how I felt when Kyouta's sisters came on screen too.

I'm sure you can I think its just a stand alone thing with 2/3 episodes aired. But it has amazing production quality.

Oh, so the OVA isn't finished yet, I see.

Was it the fact that the faces are unrealistic? Or just cause it looked silly?

A bit of both. Plus, they also act pretty silly.
