Well, here I am! New forum, new faces, (some of you), and full of new adventures! May I present unto you the [self proclaimed] Goddess of Anime herself, ... me.

*crickets*

It's okay. I anticipated that bit of awkward silence. I have that effect on mortals. Anyway, you'll surely notice that I don't like typing up the bland, boring, old, "hi, I'm a noob" style of introduction post. So, I'll get right to it. I love being creative. I write fan fiction, have been dabbling with my own magical girl story for a while, and when I'm not busy working at work while getting yelled at by impatient people, I'll be doing some coding in Unreal Engine.

Other hobbies I've held during my really, really, really, really, really, long life have included:
  • Coin collecting
  • Computer upgrades
  • Reading books
  • Stamp collecting
  • Mailing letters to pen-pals in far off lands
  • Shopping!
  • Playing the drums
  • Making databases
  • Learning every version of Solitaire imaginable...
  • Futzing with Crochet
  • Learning piano
  • Drawing (mostly anime girls)
  • Screaming at yarn while trying to knit
  • Role Playing Games (like the pen and paper kind you need friends with. Ah... I miss those days.)
  • Admiring COSplayers (for having guts...and money to do it)
  • 3D modeling
  • Listening to J-POP
  • Learning Japanese (and constantly forgetting my words)
  • Does rambling count? I think I'm doing that right now, actually?
  • Building web pages
  • Mastering Operating Systems
  • Playing Canasta (yeah, I'm old. I'm entitled!)
  • I tried Bridge. Yeah, I'm not that old!
That's actually quite a list! There's probably a bunch more, but I don't want to put everybody to sleep with my boring life. Oh, I enjoy cooking too. Really anything that deals with expression, I think is up my alleyway. Although, I'm not all that great with photo manipulation. My passion is with words! Speaking of writing, I'm currently working on a fan-fiction involving Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, Ah! My Goddess, Magical Project S, and Excel Saga, and I'm super excited to get to it! Just as soon as I figure out this Scrivener software...

Anyway, I hope to catch some of you around here! (And I'm sure I totally forgot a bunch of stuff...)

Hello,
Welcome to the forum 😊
Your introduction is truly unique and it's truly admirable to have that many skills! What's your favourite anime that doesn't have magical girls and have magical girls :)

Is that a loaded question? I mean, just about every anime I can think of has some form of magical girl in it. Oh! All-Purpose All Cultural Cat Girl Nuku Nuku!

Thank you @Rinko ! Actually, not all that many. I tend to find an anime and fall in love with it for years. I've probably seen between 20 and 30 anime in various stages of number of episodes watched. I'll watch an anime, over and over, analyze it, tear it apart, find all the dirt on the each character, and then go to town writing bizarre fan fiction... usually as a crossover, because, why not?!

You have a lot of creative stuff there. Lots of skills I wish I had. Also 3d modeling for what purpose? It's rare to see people do that for fun.

I use it for the video game I'm slowly creating... and may never release! LOL. 3D modeling comes in really handy for not only making the characters, but stuff for the characters to interact with.

It's really neat having spent hours, days making something, refining something, and then you see it, all completed, and knowing that YOU made that! Learning all the software is a plus too, because someday, I might actually make it out of retail... assuming I live through this ... economic downturn we're currently experiencing.

Welcome!!

Always lovely to meet more anime enthusiast and I can see you've got quite the arsenal of skills with you. Hopefully there'll be ample chance to for you to showcase some of them around if you feel comfortable to do that.

Also, you reminded me of Cos-poor back in the conventions I used to go. In good light hearted humour some people would cosplay and on purpose make their cosplay to look very low-budget. Like no painting the cardboards and stuff. Always grateful to those that help us loose the shyness and show us is nota big deal even if it is isn't perfect. They did it proudly and had great humour. We also had triplets that were so good at doing props and stuff. I haven't been in conventions since i moved. I kind of miss that smaller one in my city, the one where I live now is way too big and intimidating. Haha.

Lastly, you are investing in growing your skills, that is already more than a lot of people dreaming to leave retail are doing, so you are going in a good direction. I wish you the best in your game development even if it is just for your own satisfaction.

Once again, awesome to have you around and I hope you enjoy your stay.

Welcome to MAF!!!!
If you hear me calling you kiddo... Please note that... It's just a habit of mine.... It's kinda hard to get rid of ;_;
Wow that's so cool! I am from a technical background as well ^^
Though I don't have I have that many skill sets @Senkusha
