Do you trust anime reviews a lot?

I trust what I see with my own eyes. An anime review might pique my interest and get me to watch something, but I'm the only person who decides whether I like something. That being said, I've come at least one reviewer whose reviews I pretty much trust, mostly because even if they don't like something, they'll explicitly say it might just be because it's not their cup of tea - Glass Reflection Youtube channel. Anime America is just fun to watch.

I trust a collective of anime reviews, if they are all saying the same thing than that is what I will trust on. This method can be used towards any reviews actually.

but what if they are all biased?
then you will end up not watching a really interesting anime just because of those reviewers. wouldn't you agree?

I’ve seen that with video games, especially AAA titles.

New game comes out, big name reviewers give it great scores, and 6 months to a year later I get suggested by the other group of reviews all at the same time all saying that same game is garbage.

that's right lol
and it's just how people trust them and how they manipulate others views as well.

Community aggregate scores are even worse. Places like MAL have a specific bias against certain genres, so you won’t see certain shows get above a certain score, especially when you see reviews of people admitting they haven’t seen the show, but because it’s say, SAO, they have to give it a low score.

That and the actual reviews themselves are hot garbage, as they’re either “10/10 every scene is perfection” or “I wish MAL could let me score it 0/10, let me tell you how much I huff my farts and give you a 10 page essay that actually says nothing”.
