Sword Art Online is one of the most popular anime ever, to say it doesn't have a good reputation is absolutely ridiculous. Only nerds don't like SAO and in fact, those same nerds loved it when it first came out. Sword Art Online was considered one of the greatest anime ever made when the first season ended and it wasn't until some random nerd made a Youtube video bashing it that the internet turned on the series because most people are sheep who don't think for themselves.

As for Attack on Titan, it is extremely overrated and has one of the absolute worst endings in anime history. It's character designs are atrocious and intentionally westernized. I've yet to see one anime with western looking character designs like AOT that the internet doesn't absolutely love. The main character is one of the worst, most evil characters ever made and one of the most cringe-worthy. I don't think I have to say anything more than "the rumbling" and "10 years at least!" His friends immediately forgive him for genociding 80% of the planet and try to act like he's some sympathetic figure, and kissing his severed head is absolutely embarrassing. Attack on Titan sucks.

Have a seen log horizon? Unlike SAO which has sappy romance, this anime doesn't focus on romance. SAO's sequel made my stomach churn with the ince$t vibes
