Would you like to own a house in another country... If possible?

I would love to... But I was told that maintenance can be a bit too much and no anyone can afford it and not to mention the risk of losing the property if somebody else claims it... Which could potentially lead to a long legal battle.
So, what do you guys think?

I'll answer this question this way:

Would I like to own a house? Yes.
Would I like to live in a country besides the United States? Yes.
Would I like to maintain two different residences? No.

That country probably being Japan, but probably somewhere not quite as populated, like Kyoto. I imagine there's a lot of history there, being that it used to be the capital of Japan before Tokyo. Of course, this means that I'd also have to understand Japanese!

I would love to, so long as I could visit it often and didn't cost for upkeep.

Honestly, I think it would be pretty neat to have a house in another country. Especially where my dad was born and raised at(Cape Verde, Africa).

I would buy one in a heartbeat if I had the money.
