Would you consider getting an amazon echo?

I definitely don't because it would be rather useless to me. And plus there's the privacy concerns. Usually I don't think much about paranoid people like clara thinking everyone out there is listening to you but this device honestly does feels like irl spyware that's always listening to you.
Also talking to google assistant which is kind of similar satisfies most of my curiosity about AIs and what they can and can't do. If you've got a smart home or devices it can connect to I can see it being useful.

Nope I like peace and quiet and talking outloud and having a voice in your home seems like a pain. Plus it's a needless expense with everything else available just a couple of clicks away.

It's cool but personally I don't like mechanized voices it's just annoying. For now it's a gimmick but I guess a few years later it'll probably become a necessity of sorts.

Nooooope, its a nice thing but it does allow people to spy on you, open your home more to hacking incidents and I don't want things get to the point where you can't turn on a lamp without having to speak.

that's a good thing
you could use it to communicate inside your house and do the home locking by yourself

I wouldn't be too concerned about privacy like my phone and PC have a mic whats stopping people from listening in from there but I don't think it would be very useful for me.

It's not a good thing, I've read stories of people with smart thermostats being hacked and having their heat turned off or AC cranked up with the device itself made unresponsive after the temperature adjustment.

Sure its nice to control your home with one remote or voice command, but a person is screwed if a network is hacked into.
