Why is the anime fandom so rude to new comers?

what do you think? is it because they think the newbies don't know how cool anime can be? but anyone will have to start somewhere lol and being rude to them doesn't help the matter
 
I really think it's the communities you chose to associate yourself with that give you that impression.
 
Not always the case
Sure some people can be rude but unless it's a very small community, I highly doubt an entire community can isolate someone or be rude to them when it comes to anime communities
