What social media platforms do you like to use or don't like?

There are various social media platforms around these days from Reddit, Twitter, Bluesky, Youtube, Tiktok, Facebook and many more, but what platforms do you like to use? Are there any platforms that you don't like to use?

  • I've pretty much abandoned Facebook because of the constant barrage of advertisements.
  • Twitter got the boot because of the relentless political trash talk constantly invading my tiny feed.
  • Reddit, I have a hot/cold relationship with. I've been short-term banned a couple of times but I keep coming back for some reason-- probably the diversity of topics.
  • I've tried BlueSky, but there's not that much interaction on it,.
  • Threads I've tried, and although it started out quaint, it can be toxic at times. I also believe they are actively suppressing content from people. But then again, it is Meta.
  • I had an unhealthy obsession with TikTok before the Grand Ban earlier this year, and have since ditched it.
  • Then there was a brief courtship with Red Note (that Chinese TikTok-like app. And while it was fascinating to peer into actual Chinese culture, I found myself less engaged with it, to the point to where I dropped it.
  • YouTube, for a while was a sanctuary, while I could afford to pay for premium (I hate ads, okay?) But now I really don't touch it, unless I'm looking for a tutorial.

I keep finding myself back on old fashioned forums, including my own badly neglected, lonely sanctuary!
