That's not it man.
When the story is too long and they don't have enough budget, they would just adapt the main story points and that is ova.

Not always the case more often than not it's an original episode bundled with a volume of the manga to promote its sales usually it ends up being an amusement park or shopping or hotsprings or beach episode.

It's still from the original manga man I agree that, not always it gets a decent adaptation for OVA.
Not all the OVA got those hot springs and beach episodes man
 
i am watching vassalord, and it's always very confusing.
i don't get it at all and give up half way. someday i will complete it

I am watching Arslan senki and it isn't what I have expected. It's a good anime withe a great historical feel to it. I want to see more and more of this series and after completing , I would pick the light novel or the manga it's been made from.
 
I'm watching Baka & Test - Summon the Beasts. Wanted to watch a fun, light hearted series. Finished episode 1 and it's basically about students who get placed into classes A to F based on the entrance tests and they make their way up through beast battles. At least this is what I got from episode 1.

Reminds me of elite school anime man.
I like these competition classes. I will be watching it very soon.
We even have this is in assassination classroom

Yes it reminded me of those except this is more silly and wacky.

It was really good and I wanted to see a sequel if they would release one. I will give it a try to this anime too man

Oh I didn't like it a lot especially the forest arc it became needlessly fan-service heavy and ridiculous as well. It was entertaining though.

The last line by the main protagonist being selfish got me good. I never expected him to use anyone man

Well I know people liked that twist but it was a bit too far-fetched for me.

I am not saying everyone should like it but no one expected it at all
 
i am watching Mahouka koukou no rettousei.
it's not what i expected. and it's completely different from high school of the elite
 
I am watching one piece as of now.
There are just too many episodes for me to catch up. I will probably try to check the latest episodes of the promised neverland too
