Uh.....everything is meaningless in the long run?

Have you guys ever thought, what we have been doing is pretty much meaningless, after trillions of years and everything dies? In the black hole era or at the time of big crunch or after our sun's death.....whatever we have gained ....everything will be gone forever.
Let's say humans escaped into the space for survival but for how long?
They can run out of oxygen and other gases or some machine failures may occur or some debris can harm the spaceship. What about the fuel? If sun isn't there, we can't possibly use any solar energy and fuel wouldn't last forever.

Uh....what I am trying to say is, humans and other species will die and there will be nothing left except for wreckage. All the knowledge we have gained, everything we have been doing is for nothing. It's as if nothing ever happened. Do you ever think that everything is pretty much meaningless, in the very long run? Not trying to be pessimistic....but I am watching and reading too much about space exploration and I can't help but think about this stuff....
The only answer is....we are trying to satisfy our curiosity and nothing more.

Once you start believing in the Christian God, everything starts to have meaning. Yes, for atheists, everything is meaningless. It's called nihilism. Look up the word.

It doesn't have to wait for long run, a second we die  we lost connection with this world and everything about the world is already meaningless. That's why.. have you done your purpose in life when you're still alive? If you done nothing to fulfill it, your entire life is definitely meaningless. Then the real question is.. what is your purpose in life? You don't know? You don't have? In that case your life is already meaningless even if you're still alive. If we live only to satisfy our curiousity then zebra, octopus, pig, cat, bird also have curiousity, they also satisfy their curiousity

Could you please stop trying to turn discussions into religious discussions, Elvis?
I don't really believe in god anymore. But...even if I were to believe, I wouldn't turn into Christianity ever. Try to respect other religions, even if you don't believe them.

Nope....what I am trying to say is....ether good or bad...or whatever you think, you have done doesn't matter after some trillions of years.
Mankind is intelligent but they could never leave a lasting thing in that beautiful space, claiming that we were here at some point. Whatever we leave, might get sucked into a blackhole or get hit by something and merely turn into debris. I hope you are getting what I am trying to say. We are living because we have life and that's it.

I see.. this is our difference in how we see life, i have an idea of what you are and what you stand for, so i guess it's better for us to avoid this kind of topic, well.. it's always better to talk about manga and anime in this site haha..

i don't get this but we are alive and we need to live.
what happens after we are gone isn't something we should be worrying about clara. you might be right but thinking about it wouldn't help

This is the point that I was trying to make before, we are all just temporary here..everything and everyone will one day be no more so then can it not be concluded as an illusion..anyways not gona dive into that again

I'm not sure what's going on with you sweetie but it's cool that you have a new hobby, just try not to let it send you crazy in thoughts.

Yes pretty much. That's why there is no inherent meaning. But you can give your own meaning to it or live without it it doesn't really matter. I for one definitely want to see the advancements in technology and discoveries we make and how they change stuff. Astronomical stuff is up there of course, but even stuff like new game technologies, better computers, new robots new software is stuff worth sticking around for.

and once you think past that you go back to everything is meaningless or even worse a bad joke. There sure is a god force at work, but its not one looking after ants like us.

It's not religion. It's a relationship with God. If you're asking me if I could stop trying to bring people back to God, then my answer is 'no'.

it's up to them.
i like to see people turning but if they don't want to or if they believe in a different religion and different god, i respect that. you should learn that too

That's your 'belief', Elvis and I respect that.
Just....as I said, don't try to convert everything into religious discussions.

Alright, the next time, I see a post related to a god here, I am going to lock this thread.
@MadaraUchiha @BurnsyCEO could you guys please lock this thread, if it ventures into religious side completely.
