Outgrowing anime

Right. It only has like 100,000 members and its popularity is at 908. I've heard of it but it was never in my radar. Don't think I'll watch it either.

People recommended it to me man.
I was having huge expectations and then everything went bad. It's not good and the story is too slow paced

I learnt my lessons too many times with expectations so I just go in blind before watching anything. This is why I dread about watching stuff like Cowboy Bebop and Gurren Lagann. They are just so popular that I'm afraid they are inevitably gonna disappoint.

I was disappointed with many anime man but I never learn.
I will keep this in mind whenever I set my expectations in future

Blank out your mind when you start something and keep it that way for a couple of episodes.

Don't you talk about it with your friends at all?
I have friends who know about my anime watching hobby and gives me a hard time for it

I had times where we discussed anime but I'd prefer to keep it private, even from other anime watchers.

I thought I was the only one that didn't like it, I barely made it to the end.

Ikr, everywhere I go, people only say good things about it and even go far enough to call it a classic.

If you've watched Kill la kill by any chance, did you dislike it as well? I loved KlK from start to finish and everyone who's watched say both of them have similar style, pacing, designs and animation so I'll probably like it.

I tried watching it when I was bored of anime and used to drop anything and everything. Didn't watch past episode 1.

why would you hide from others?
it's not something you should be ashamed of and anime can be fun

Unlike Gurren Lagann I don't think fans go everywhere and parade how deep it is it's just pure unadulterated fun with lots of action, blood, fan-service and a kickass OST so you'll probably like it. Worst case you'll find a lot of fan-art of the three main girls but they are awesome characters.

Then just wanna know if you found it to be different from Gurren Lagann.

I loved Kill la Kill.

Sometimes its not about being ashamed but not caring enough to deal with arguing over it or trying to explain it to someone.

if you don't them that that's not how they should view things, they would never learn.
i don't get it totally

Why would you waste your time on someone who has no interest in changing just move on.

Well the style had similarities but they still had very different stories.

they might change and i don't like to hide my interests.
i have done that and it left me with a huge scar

That is the most ridiculous statement that I have ever read. How can one outgrow something that they obviously like a lot? I wouldn't be outgrowing anime, if such a thing is still possible.

that's cool yoshida
but for everyone it's not the same and some believe anime watching could be just a phase.
