I liked MyBB 1.6 - 1.8 is the same with just few graphics updates but no more cool stuff, maybe some code variation thanks to the new versions of PHP and MySQL coding languages.
I'm now waiting for MyBB 2.0 - from the only official screenshoots, it's going to be a very cool forums software. I hope it's still free licensed to everybody who wants to run a forums site.
