I would have wanted to see global stats on anime and manga sales/downloads too =) We have my anime list, it kinda represents English speaking part of the world.

I heard that naruto broke records last year.
I think it will be in the first position, in those results.

Does they conduct survey to get these statistics?
Or do they take care of publications and their profit into consideration?

I don't know the numbers, but people who care about this sort of stuff say this is how it is.

People believe that popular and long series are always at the top.

See Naruto there? =) It keeps 16th place, below Fairy Tail, which is at 13th position. And it makes sense, since the manga has ended quite a while ago. Naruto is still doing better than Bleach though.

That's because One Piece is extremely famous in Japan, but not in other countries....... Your friends have more chance of knowing anime like Bleach or Naruto or Dragon Ball than knowing One Piece......
