Japanese anime ranking, September 2014

I know Naruto manga usually get to the tops in sales. Maybe they didn't like the TV adaptation quite as much. Fairy Tail and lots of other on-goings aren't in this list too.

I have looked at those sazae-san's images.I can't bring myself to watch that series anymore :(

xD Sazae-san is probably the longest anime in existence. It has been around for decades. The manga started soon after The World War, and back then it was a little nice thing to have; people weren't picky anyway, there weren't that many choices in terms of entertainment =) The story is about a normal household, so it was something most people could relate to. And because it survived for so long now people look at it as a dear part of their lives, a show they grew up watching. That is why it's popular =) I hope this series will go on, I find it kinda cute that Japanese people who have such an amazing animation industry enjoy this simplistic little anime ^^

I've only seen one episode subbed, anyway =) I'm pretty sure most of this anime never was translated.

Apparently their system says it isn't =) Keep in mind it is a ranking of TV series that are being broadcast in Japan, it doesn't necessarily reflects popularity of the shows overall. But from what I heard Naruto is indeed not as popular as One Piece in Japan. Here is the more recent top list, it also has no Naruto - link

Naruto is indeed popular in other countries, but, not as popular as One Piece in Japan.....It's the best-selling manga of all time, after all........
