Is there any anime girls with Autism/ASD or another mental disorder?

There should be plenty with undiagnosed illnesses if you just look at how they act. Can't think of any where it was actually diagnosed.

There are several anime and manga characters that exhibit autistic traits but because Japanese culture does not recognize autism as a real disorder, they do not say the character is autistic. For a better understanding of this read With the Light: Raising an Autistic Child” by Keiko Tobe. As a parent that has raised two autistic children, I am very familiar with autistic traits and behaviors. A good example of an autistic in anime would be The Pet Girl of Sakurasou. Mashiro is a famous artis can make amazing paintings and manga but is incapable of handling most day-to-day functions and does not understand emotions and social interactions.

Now that you mention it, I'm not sure I can really think of any characters like this.
I'm sure they do exist of course, but it would be interesting if it was explored more often.

May be I am just not good at recognizing them. Like Kadenmire mentioned there could be lots of characters like that in anime.

Outside of characters like Mashiro Shiina, I think the only thing that gets talked about is chuunibyou characters, but that’s more of the internet style autism rather than real autism.
