How would popular 2000s anime do if released today? Like Death note

I can't really predict when it comes to such stuff.
What about you? How would you describe the popularity if they were to release now?
 
Death note can still be quite popular. Some shows like K-on and SAO which made some genres popular would be burried among their spiritual successors and not even be noticed.

this is right
and if log horizon would have been released first then it would have grabbed all the attention of sao fans.
