How big of a part does the music play when you're watching an anime?

I am a sucker for good music and I get drawn to OSTs/songs I like and really stirs up emotions in me which make me remember the scene/anime/opening/endings for years after I'm done watching it. It can turn even average anime into feeling like masterpieces.
The anime that did this for me even if it was just one song would be Madoka magica, Devilman crybaby, Parasyte the maxim, Angel beats, Bokurano, Death note, God eater, Kara no kyoukai, Made in abyss, Shinsekai yori, Bleach, Phantom requiem for the phantom. And to a lesser extent stuff like Fate/zeo, FMAB, Inuyasha and code geass.

Having good headphones after listening to laptop speakers makes you feel like you discovered a whole new world you can get blissfully lost in.

Honestly I am not a fan of anime songs at all. I prefer listening to songs in my native language. I do get that some songs are good, especially one piece opening songs are always good, but it's just not my cup of tea..

 listening to them.

I just love Japan's music culture and how well it fits into animes. Specially when it comes to turning manga based songs into anime that's hearable, such as D.Gray-Man's 14th melody. Or when they insert a really strong fighting song like 'This is a fight to change the world' from Sengku Barasra.

I don't know if you've seen it but FLCL has an amazing sound track. The series is basically just one big music video.

Is the music better than macros frontier ? If so, I will think of watching it as long as it's not food wars

It's extremes. I don't go into an anime expecting great music, but if it does have great music it goes up by at least one notch in my scale. Plus, only when it has good music can it bring out emotions out of me. Last week I was watching My Hero Academia Season 3 Episode 4, and there was this very, very intense scene and I literally shouted out loud out of excitement, and that wouldn't have happened if not for the equally intense and amazing music.
And, I do like to listen to music and soundtrack that are good. My all time favourite is Naruto. Some of my other favourites include Death Note, FLCL, Samurai Champloo, Attack on Titan, Kekkai Sensen, Seirei no Moribito, Mob Psycho 100, Cardcaptor Sakura, Fate/Zero, Kill la Kill, Made in Abyss, Magi, Phantom, Food Wars, Steins Gate, Devilman Crybaby.

I also give a lot of importance to Openings. To me it sets the tone to the anime and my mood, especially for the first few episodes, since I don't skip openings that are good. So, there's more chances of me remembering good anime that have good OP's. My favourite OP is '99' from Mob Psycho 100. My other favourites include OP's from Death Note, Steins Gate, FMAB, Naruto, Bleach, Monogatari, Overlord, Food Wars, Seven Deadly Sins, etc.

I started watching this Spring 2018 series called Megalo Box, about boxing with special equipments, and it has a god-tier soundtrack. Absolutely hard-core.

I didn't expect hero academia to have great music at all. Most of the shonen anime has okay music. I believe only one piece is an exception for it

I don't consider fairy tail a pure shonen anime at all. So even thought it's got great music, I never counted it towards shonen anime having great music. I will look into your other mentioned anime as well, sometime.

Other anime like naruto, bleach, one piece doesn't have that sort of fan service at all. Is fairy tail the second popular in Japan, for real?
I wonder if it's still ongoing.

I see. I don't like anime or manga trying to get popularity through fan service but not the plot . I dropped seven deadly sins and I won't be watching food wars either.

a very rediculous question. you give importance to what you see and to what you hear. music didn't give much for anime

It gives out a unique feeling and makes people excited and it's not ridiculous. Why are you trying to pick fights, deliberately?

The Pillows did an amazing job with FLCL's soundtrack. I almost believe they made the music first and then the anime.

I don't mind it if it's used in an extremely creative way like in Food Wars case.

Well, I will give it some thought but I won't be picking it up anytime soon. I got too many anime to watch and fan service really spoils my mood.

I'm not asking you to watch it I'm just saying fan-service isn't some death sentence deserving vice like you make it out to be.

I watch anime, in my computer and folks are always around me. Do you know, how it would seem, if an anime contains too much fan service?
How do you watch your anime?
