but will not be dubbed sadly.
BurnsyCEO said:What is with this trend of releasing movies as recaps followed by a sequel movie? And this one is 13 years after the series aired. Do they just wanna upgrade animation and production quality to modern standards? Madoka magica recap movies were pretty much identical to the series so it can't be that. Do they make more money? Or protect their product from piracy? It has to be that.
MadaraUchiha said:More money and yes also to bring people up to speed when there's a sequel movie. Haikyuu, Kuroko's Basketball, Kabaneri, Attack on Titan, Chuunibyou, Kyoukai no Kanata, and a ton of other anime also have recap movies.
BurnsyCEO said:That makes no sense. If people owned dvd of the series they will watch that. If they watched it on cinema they wouldn't pay money and go to watch a story they already know. And 3 separate movies that too.
MadaraUchiha said:Hey don't ask me. There's a reason why top studios like IG or KyoAni do it on a consistent basis. Plus anime usually relies on a niche audience so they usually go out of their way to watch something they like, that's how they've been making money.
Plus Code Geass is actually extremely popular there, it still manages to break into top 10 DVD/Blu-ray sales now and then so makes sense for them to release it.
MadaraUchiha said:Resurrection releases early next month so blu-ray won't be out until August so I guess I have plenty of time to watch this recap trilogy. Only point of contention is whether they've changed anything to lead the trilogy into the new movie, and different people are saying different things.
Demon_skeith said:I am pretty sure from what I have gathered that the movies alter the story line just enough to justify the new movie and what happens. Which I hope the new movie at least gets dubbed.
BurnsyCEO said:That makes some sense. Plus visuals would be better.
MadaraUchiha said:At the very least the new movie will be dubbed. Usually Funimation dubs movies they plan on releasing in theatres. Most recent example being Broly.
Demon_skeith said:only big titles, like DBZ, see the big screen and still get very limited release.
