Not really. FMA and the manga are quite different but FMAB and the manga are pretty similar. Of course, they are not entirely similar but the things which have been omitted in the anime are pretty minor with almost no useful purpose in progression of plot.

FMA 2003 had to change the plot but FMA:B came after the manga was finished so it followed it. Unless you like manga more than anime (like me) there's no real reason as to why you should read the manga.

But people say that FMA:B is not a remake of FMA...

The story is the same with some minor differences.
Even if it isn't exactly a remake, it does resemble FMA.

If you like FMA:B and feel okay reading it even with the warnings on the similar plot, I'd say go for it.
Maybe it can help you connect better some dots, understand some scene or comment that they might have gone over too quickly in the anime.

I don't know, man. I've never watched FMA:B so far. @Demon_Skeith said that it is not a remake...

I've never read the manga. But I think this is how it goes:

FMA=Filler from episode 29 and so on.

FMA:B=Canon, which follows the manga through.

If the manga is incomplete, then some ending should be created. That's common sense.

I don't get, where you're getting at with that response?

Care to elaborate?

FMA Turned filler because of, lack of Manga. It caught up to the manga.

FMA is complete, I believe? That's why they made FMA:B.
