Forum software change and your opinions

With the number of posts we have....it's gonna be difficult...Give me some time.
I will try to fix all the pending issues or I am gonna replace our forum software.
 
don't change it.
try to solve these and take your time. i won't complain and we have at least one working theme.

when a forum changes software, all user accounts and posts/threads transfer over just fine. Any special formatting would have to be redone. When I transferred my site from IPB to xenforo I lost nothing content wise.
 

I don't know much about this kind of stuff but losing data would mean we have to start from scratch again right?
Bright side our goal for the day might be less lol
Whatever works for you chick though losing all that hard work would be a bumber

Before spending all that amount of cash if it's possible to fix this one or you might have a cheaper solution available maybe you should explore those solutions first..800 is a lot and if you need time we at least have one theme operational for now

You misunderstood me. I'm not saying no one reads her posts or threads I'm saying that losing old ones is no big deal take me for example maybe 300 of my total posts are still in threads that people skim over or read in old threads but most of my posts are in threads that right now will never be opened again that if i deleted 500 of my posts no one would even notice so whats the big deal after 1 month of a reset all the active threads and posts will be started up and we would be back to normal like nothing happened.
 
Hmm, I'd say go for it. These forums types are slowly dying out, migrating would be good but starting over isn't bad either. 

I understand how some may feel upset losing all their post count but all it really is, is a number. A number can change overtime software is limited to what we have available

just a simple general gaming forum that I've kept going for nearly 12 years now.


Anyways, if you do the upgrade or not, you'll have to do a few test runs before messing with the main site. So even before you do it, you can state beforehand what will happen and what will be lost.

Oh I see
I get what you are saying but she has worked really hard and losing all that hard work is not gona be easy for her..why do you think she makes so many posts for a single anime or manga? Just saying it might not mean much to us but she has reasons to be upset if this happens

It will be fun as usual and on the bright side hun things are being fixed so it might not even happen so chill a bit :)

but i am still going to lose many manga threads and posts
i won't be able to know what they are and i don't usually read them a second time. so they will be gone forever

To be honest as I have said..I'm just here to help out and learn
The posts aren't that important as if I lose you all..I like talking to you all and I really hope that no one would leave if this change takes place

and you are so kind to them allowing whatever decision that take. my manga threads are very important to me despite many people don't much of them
