First anime or manga?

That's a factor, but, my ratings for an anime don't improve just because they have unexpected endings. I expect the whole package to be good, and these are the best, in my opinion.

I haven't watched SAO, and I can't compare Himitsu and Fairy Tail. Both are worlds apart. Fairy Tail wasn't boring like Himitsu was, but, it was certainly not as good as Naruto or HunterxHunter or One Piece. It was more like DBZ.

I think that an anime has to hook you within the first three episodes. Ever heard of the '3-episode rule'. And, as I told you, I will certainly watch Himitsu.

No I didn't. Hitman got better sheet 15 episodes. So I don't believe in that 3 episode rule. Then complete watching it

It's just a thumb-rule, and every one of these obviously has an exception. I didn't like the first 50 episodes of One Piece, the first 45 episodes of Gin Tama. But, my thing is that if they are unable to hook you in the first three episodes, it's because they are not good enough or the anime is not good enough. I will watch it, after June 9. I thought one piece opening is pretty good. I couldn't say the same to gintama as i dropped it after watching 103 episodes.

Gin Tama is not for everyone. It has a very dark, satirical humour.

'Stupid' MAL. That is the anime database we could ever possibly have. It's better than IMDb. And, in my opinion, it is an incredible anime.

Gin Tama doesn't have the first place. It's at #14. And, I wouldn't know. I've watched 100 episodes, and while I think it's brilliant, I have to watch the complete thing to judge it.
