they can't keep on depending on other funds. and if there are no jobs, they should get the food by themselves, through, fruits, meet and other means.

Farming is an incredibly difficult job though. And expensive as well. The minute you put a stop to advancement of science it's just bad news. Plus do you know how much satellites help in farming, weather patterns, etc? All this would not have happened without space exploration.

but they don't have to explore mars and other space.
and farming can be difficult then they can raise and get meat instead

Meat doesn't grow on a tree though you have to spend so much time to raise something, clean it constantly make sure it doesn't get sick feed it constantly with everything getting industrialised it's just not viable on a small scale.
