Just like with everyone else, it all comes down to personality, not appearance.
If you behave well regardless of how you look like, nobody will hate you.

People do go with the image a country has at first, but when proven otherwise, they're easy to make exceptions.
The thing really is that in most countries, minorties both good and bad tend to be everywhere, and it's really the bad ones that get the most attention, effectively harming reputation for those who do nothing wrong at all.

In east Asia there aren't that many minority groups, and if they are, they're mostly from nearby countries.
The biggest minority group in Japan are South Koreans.
Good and bad exist, but the bad are far louder in the media than the good.

The difference with western countries is that minority groups are located nearly everywhere, while in east Asia they are mostly only in big cities, preferably in the more lively neighbourhoods.
So people who work and/or live in Taito, Tokyo have a far better understanding towards white, black, Arab, etc. than those in for example Itabashi, Tokyo.
Because Taito is home to lots of tourist attractions and many companies housing both national and international employees.
Itabashi on the other hand is a pure living place, it's very unlikely to spot anyone from outside of Japan there.

Why would I have to wake up at 5 for anything?

I saw you during that time yesterday, so I thought you have been getting up at that time, like the rest of us.
If that's not the case, never mind.

My sleep schedule is not something you people would comprehend.

I see. If you are a college student or an office worker, then you will have a set schedule. Well, as these are summer holidays, you don't have to worry about any schedule now. Makes sens

50 Km one way. Totally 100.

That's really something. I used to travel that much not too long ago. Now I have to travel close to 80 KMS. Journey can be really tiring.
I hope you would get some sleep during the journey

In the mornings I usually sleep, but when I return I have company so I don't sleep.

I see. If it's me, I would be doing the opposite. I usually don't sleep in the morning. But the evening time, I would be too tired, so I might fall asleep.

Oh. Well, I prefer company over sleeping, and we usually have lots to talk about so I don't sleep. And, I'm a light sleeper so I usually manage it well.

I see. I am a light sleeper as well. I don't sleep too deeply. Still, if possible I would like to sleep more.

If your body wants you to you'll eventually be forced to sleep on a weekend so rest assured.

I don't sleep during the day either but if I sleep 2-3 hours during the weekdays everyday then I make sure to sleep 12 hours in the weekend.

I would love to wake up at 5:30 every morning and follow through my morning imaginary morning routine but it's 3:44AM and here I am right now...
I wake up at anytime between 5 to 8 actually, and rarely when mom's is in a better mood, as late as 11 xD But I make sure to have at least 7 hours of sleep otherwise I start malfunctioning (_ _)

So even if I sleep now I am going to wake up in at least four hours and I must prepare for a sleep deprived day for tomorrow (_ _)..technically today.
