Well, I usually ignore that.
There are lots of such people out there and I just don't wanna confront them by stooping to that level.

People usually believe what they want to believe even before the overwhelming evidence. I don't want to waste my time explaining stuff to them, if I can help it. It's not like ..I would still be around them after couple of years... So there is that.
