Claraviolet said:Uhh...I am not exactly insulting... It's just I don't like it being compared to anime like death note.
I know that we have various preferences but in terms of art, music, story line, character development.... Death note takes the trophy for me
Claraviolet said:I wouldn't mind as they are both dignified anime. Come on.. Picking someone's nose, running out of toilet paper, stealing uh... Inner clothes.. Seriously sindar?
I know gag anime but this is extreme!
Claraviolet said:That makes sense and doesn't make sense at the same time.
It's like uhh... Comparing a peacock with a crow for me
Today one idiot compared anime to a cartoon called Ed,Eden and Eddie. I was so mad that I wanted to kill her badly.
Seriously? Just how many idiots are there in this whole damned world!!!!?

Just felt like it. I don't like normal childish cartoons when compared to anime like death note and such. Deal with it
Yikes. Never heard of it

I am sure lots of people would find random anime they happened to see disgusting. Doesn't mean it is objectively bad, it is all a matter of taste. It would be good for all of us to be a bit more open-minded about things others like.
MadaraUchiha said:Death Note is an exception to normality. It's an anomaly in terms of being an anime, and an adaptation, in that it improved upon the source material and had its own style. But, in this decade, we haven't really had a lot of visionary anime with really distinct style, or at the very least, quality animation, except when it comes from certain directors(Masaaki Yuasa), or studios(Bones, Shaft, KyoAni, Madhouse). Every season we are getting 50 anime, most of them are shit, and are cookie cutter adaptations of light novels that are either harems or isekai or high school settings. The industry is dying, and is going to shit.
MadaraUchiha said:That's exactly the point. Already there aren't a lot of animation staff, and they are distributed over tons of shows, shows that are mostly shit, and sometimes good, so their talent is wasted drawing generic light novel protagonists and characters like in Death March or SAO instead of working on something good. It's not a good sign if 35 anime are shit, 10 are good, and only 2 or 3 are great.
Even Made in Abyss was a diamond in the rough. I watched many anime from Summer 2017, and only a few of them were good.
Claraviolet said:And yet you refuse to watch good anime because the art is bad... Seriously kiddo... You should watch good anime first
MadaraUchiha said:When have I not watched good anime? What are you babbling?
Death Note is an exception to normality. It's an anomaly in terms of being an anime, and an adaptation, in that it improved upon the source material and had its own style. I have watched a few cartoons that, in Clara's words, mature. Like Samurai Jack. But it gets on my nerves when people just dismiss things without knowing anything about it. I mean they can, but not in front of me. Pixar was the first to use CG animation in a full-length feature film in Toy Story, and they've been pushing the boundaries for more than 20 years. And, it's not like every anime we are getting are great. I make sure to check out at least 1 episode of the anime that are either interesting or popular from an on-going season, and a lot of times they turn out to be pretty bad, with very obvious use of shortcuts in animation, etc(one example would be an anime called Death March). The industry is drowned in mediocrity, and out of 50 anime per season, only 3 or 4 turn out to be genuinely great.
Oh my God.... I don't think I would ever try it at this point.
For me it's just a vulgar series
Probably. Because it only makes sense just how different they are

comparing them, discussing their similarities and differences. Am I now one of the "idiots there in this whole damned world"?
Claraviolet said:You didn't watch kyou Kara ore wa, kemono no souja Erin and many other things that I have recommended to you over the years... So that's why I came to that conclusion
Oh my god.
Seriously sindar? You would go that far to defend something? ;_; I don't want to give in because deep down I feel like death note shouldn't be compared with a cartoon like Ed,ed and something
Sindar said:Well maybe you should, cause establishing this meaningless censorship for thoughts is only going to bite you in the back : P I will never hesitate to compare any two things as long as it makes sense in context, and I would encourage others to do so too.
Also, just for fun, was this "one idiot" who "compared anime to a cartoon called Ed,Eden and Eddie" talking about Death Note? =)
