Comparing anime and cartoon

Uhh...I am not exactly insulting... It's just I don't like it being compared to anime like death note.
I know that we have various preferences but in terms of art, music, story line, character development.... Death note takes the trophy for me
I wouldn't mind as they are both dignified anime. Come on.. Picking someone's nose, running out of toilet paper, stealing uh... Inner clothes.. Seriously sindar?
I know gag anime but this is extreme!
That makes sense and doesn't make sense at the same time.
It's like uhh... Comparing a peacock with a crow for me

Death Note is an exception to normality. It's an anomaly in terms of being an anime, and an adaptation, in that it improved upon the source material and had its own style. But, in this decade, we haven't really had a lot of visionary anime with really distinct style, or at the very least, quality animation, except when it comes from certain directors(Masaaki Yuasa), or studios(Bones, Shaft, KyoAni, Madhouse). Every season we are getting 50 anime, most of them are shit, and are cookie cutter adaptations of light novels that are either harems or isekai or high school settings. The industry is dying, and is going to shit.

Already there aren't a lot of animation staff, and they are distributed over tons of shows, shows that are mostly shit, and sometimes good, so their talent is wasted drawing generic light novel protagonists and characters like in Death March or SAO instead of working on something good. It's not a good sign if 35 anime are shit, 10 are good, and only 2 or 3 are great.
Even Made in Abyss was a diamond in the rough. I watched many anime from Summer 2017, and only a few of them were good.

Didn't expect you to be so critical about the current state of the industry : D I personally feel like there is more good anime coming out that I'll be able to watch, and loads of mediocre and cheap shonen and harem productions don't bother me at all. You are more in the know though.
Samurai Jack looks pretty interesting. It is a tv series, right? Yeah, I didn't say anything about Pixar or Disney, and there are lots of other western studios with very talented people working there.
That is way too dangerous : P Comparing different things is the main route to understanding them. Peacocks might look different from crows when you think about their size, habits and the circumstances you see them in, but there are lots of similarities too. People somehow find both birds poetic, peacocks for their fancy looks and crows for their ominous fame and plain yet sharp appearance. Both birds tend to be around people, with peacocks held captive and taken care of and crows being pests we have to accept. Which of the two birds is smarter? Crow, I would guess, right? Which can fly better? Which is the better survivor, the better hunter? Which bird played a deeper role in European literature? What about Eastern lit? What about the difference in the body structure between the two birds? How far are they related to each other?
I can go on and on, comparing them, discussing their similarities and differences. Am I now one of the "idiots there in this whole damned world"?
