Bleach Ending

True =)

Not a lot of good anime vendors in your city? I know how it feels, I bought all the stuff I got while travelling =)

wait, don't tell me Batman dies?.. :O

Okay, I warned you xD

"animation quality is not as good as I remember" is an accurate description of re-watching any long running shonen from your youth : D Bleach is very serious compared to FT, for sure. Wait till you get to Ichigo's big fights, that will be pretty awesome =) I've been listening to Bleach soundtrack recently, brought back some good memories ^^b

That is what always happens with Fairy Tail, you can't not criticize it, even if you honestly like the show =) FT reddit is kinda crazy because of that, with people being both cynical and happy.

More like, zero. Online is the only option.

Lol, cool. I don't really mind gore, plus, I'm not all that attacked to NGE characters. But, let's see.

I mean, I wouldn't say youth. I finished the first 63 episodes in 2013. But, yeah, I guess I didn't really know what animation is, etc. Not that I know what it is today, but, certainly more than whatever I knew back then. But, yes, I find Ichigo to be great. Hopefully, I enjoy it as I watch more.

That's always a problem with shows I find to be mediocre. I mean, it's not like a 5/10, not exactly middle of the road, it's like a 6.7 or 6.8. But, it's still not bad. I still have fun. It's just that episode after episode, after building up something interesting, it falls into shounen cliches and conventions.

On a side note, have you watched Kiseijuu(Parasyte-the maxim-)?

Wow o.O

That sounds really cool. Have to applaud the director and writer for daring to make such an ending for a character with a huge dedicated fan base. And I like the idea that Bruce decided to live in piece. I haven't seen/read much, but his character often feel to me like a person who depends on having a obvious purpose in life to move forward. Him retiring says that he was able to deal with his mental struggles, which ever he had.

Yeah, that is what I meant, "from your early days as an anime fan" =) Though it isn't necessarily true for all shonen anime. I feel like the first few seasons of One Piece are as watchable now as ever, they look awesome. At least the parts I've seen. Btw, have you seen this new remake, Episode of East Blue? It is a shorter version of the events of the first few arcs.
I have only seen the remake of Zoro vs Mihawk fight, but it was pretty good =)

Right.

Nope, I haven't. I'll read the manga soon though. Did you like it?

I am a big fan of his. Yes, he made three main-stream comic books movies, but he also made movies like Memento, which is completely unique and original. I don't think a similar movie exists. And, he directs the movie 'The Prestige', a movie about two stage magicians and rivalry, like a magician, in that the movie is constructed in the same way as how a magic show/event is. He is probably my favourite director ever, after Steven Spielberg.

It is. I'm watching it purely for nostalgia sake, and because I don't want to drop it after 800 episodes. Plus, the episode in which Sanji and Luffy have throwdown did have an emotional impact.

Two things surprised me about the fact that it's old: the anime somehow became popular, and it also didn't feel dated in the eyes of fans and is apparently in a modern setting. So, Madhouse sort of re-invented it. It's also a monthly series, FYI. About 64 chapters.

I see, so there is a parallel between these two guys, both using assistants that are closely related to them, but for one the assistant is a real person, and for another it is an expendable tool. Cool =)

That was such a powerful moment in the manga. Sanji's attacks felt really heavy and painful, and the way Nami was taking it all at the face value also added to the emotion. That is the beginning of the part that I was thinking about when I was saying that the arc is going to get better a while ago =) Anime or not, the story is worth following for sure, I feel.

Right. How did they even dig up that manga o.O

I realise that the story is worth following. It's the adaptation that's not really up to par with the source material. Or, hasn't been since Dressrosa arc. Just one question: I presume you've read the latest chapter, have they all re-united, and left for Wano?

That's cool, actually. Haki was the last 'new' major thing that was introduced. And, this is obvious of course, I presume they stood no chance against Mama.

I knew that Blackbeard was gonna be an antagonist at some point, because one he was introduced in that way, in a pretty nasty manner, but more importantly because of the events of the Marineford arc. And, the Straw Hat alliance itself stated that they are gonna go up against Kaidou. So, I wanted them to kinda stay away from Big Mom too. And, she hasn't really given a great impression as a villain for me so far(or anyone among the Big Mom pirates). I guess I have to wait and watch.

Blackbeard is pretty much the only villain who acts as a reasonable human. If you try, you can imagine him being the protagonist of One Piece. It would still be a fun story to watch too =) He cares about his crew, gathers strong people around him, has lots of adventures and an ambitious goal he walks towards (instead of idling around like every other yonkou), he also has all those silly shortcomings that are typical for a protagonist. It would be a very different story, one wit real pirating =) That is part of what I had in mind when I said that Big Mom shouldn't operate on villain's logic. She isn't weak though, you'll see for yourself soon enough. There had been like a dozen weeks when immediately after a new chapter comes out people would be like "too powerful, somebody nerf big mom!". But, Whitebeard was overpowered too, so makes sense that Big Mom wouldn't be a fodder.

Well, since he became a Yonkou only recently, you could watch him grow a lot, and multiply his strength, unlike the other Yonkou, who pretty much became one long before the main story began. Plus, Big Mom's goal doesn't seem to be the King of Pirates.
I'm not saying she's weak, I'm just saying she's not menacing enough, since Oda is building her up to be a villain. Though, I really, really hope she isn't nerfed. Naruto and Sasuke suffered that during the Naruto Gaiden arc, kind of struggling against someone like Shin Uchiha(especially in the adaptation of these chapters in the Boruto anime), and then they go on to defeat planetary beings like Momoshiki in spite of being depleted of their Chakra.

But, you know, Akainu kind of escaped without being harmed much. He took a beating from Whitebeard, but that's it. But, yeah, with Luffy saying he's gonna go up against Kaidou, I've no idea how he's supposed to defeat him. With him struggling against Cracker when he was in Gear Four, I guess Oda probably has to give him a new ability, and hopefully, that's not Gear Five or something. So, maybe he won't become powerful enough to defeat a Yonkou all by himself at the very least, since they are probably more powerful than someone at the level of an admiral, whom I want Luffy to defeat first. Not necessarily an admiral, but someone at that level.
Though, I'm curious, what he's gonna do. Plus, there's Zoro, and I've always contended that he has not faced a worthy opponent post time-skip, with the exception of his brief encounter with Issho.

Yeah, episode 19-23 covered the Gaiden stuff, and 24 was an adaptation of Chapter 700. The Gaiden arc adaptation was fine at best. They tried to expand on it, and it led to a lot of holes, one of them being Shin's retarded motivations, and Sasuke's and Naruto's power levels. This may seem kind of ironic, but, I think Boruto is pretty good when it's a slice of life school anime, and not when it's a shounen anime. Though, the latest episode sets up this current arc that's going to happen, and both the writing and the action were pretty good, so maybe they've improved.
