Best ways to compress a video file

Heya minasan!

I have been downloading the legend of galactic heroes and each episode is up to 70-90 MB and it's of avi/mp4 format.
So, in order to re-size it, I used movavi converter and I have selected some files t resize.
I kinda changed the format, resolution, bit rate, frame rate ...but because of the inbuilt subtitles and such...I just can't really tone down the size. And the picture isn't quite right either. So, can someone tell me how to resize these episodes(not more than 50 mb for each episode) with good quality?
P.S. Oh by the way, I made the profile change to baseline instead of main.

unless you buy pro version, it's gonna stay that way. No way people would give you fucking tips to lose their business.
Just go with flv, wmv format. They use less space and you can't do anything more than that

i have never done this... and i probably never will, cause i stream everything....

if i do download i have a 3TB HDD, if that ever gets filled up ill just by few more of those.

use google, it has all the answers

I have two 1 TB hard disks and a 500 GB hard disk. It's just that I collect anime I watch.
Well, I have tried many tricks mentioned in google but they are degrading the quality of the video :(

thats what normally happens.... i don't think you can compress it without losing quality.

or download 1080p and when its compressed should still look ok

well eps are only like 20 mins... so that's like 200mb file size per eps... i guess it depends on your internet connection

A 24 minute anime can be stored in just 30-40 mb. I don't know how they do that but flv got less file size.

Davis-senpai, the episodes in those torrent files are like 70 mb to 400 mb.
Those are not less files senpai.

It is possible but I just can't find the way to do it,

Clara-sepai, it's difficult to find files in such a small size and without losing quality is another hurdle.
I don't think there is much we can do.

Torrent files are large.
Most of the files in torrents are of HD or 1080p or 720p quality.

that is what i was talking bout, most files are around the 200mb size, which i dont personally think is that big.

I did compressed a video once that I have downloaded from torrent but, even though the quality is at it's poor.
It doesn't matter how you compress something, but it's not possible to get a video size with the same quality. I may be wrong but I haven't seen anyone accomplish that lately.

Well, I know that there is a way, but I just don't know it yet.
@Davis (_ _)
That sort of 1080 files lose their quality when you compress them ya know.
I tried and the results are just too much. In fact, it's depressing to know that, I don't know the technique to do it correctly :(

I steam 480p episodes senpai. They load fast. May be your internet connection is just too good unlike others.

Davis said:
well i get like 20mb down, which is pretty good.

you need like 5mb to stream 720p

I have 3 mb speed even though I have a subscription for 10mb. No one cares about the complaints so I can't do much senpai.
