Anime Movie - Spirited Away

i thought it's being used extensively in new anime. otherwise it would be difficult to get such good animation and new graphics.

CG is certainly used in a lot of new anime, but unsuccessfully, in most cases. The only good CG anime in recent memory is probably Houseki no Kuni, which has garnered a lot of critical acclaim.
The problem is combining 2D with 3D or not providing enough frames, or an inability to direct 3D.

if the cg anime is good, people shouldn't criticize it may be it copied some other anime plot. i don't get 3d and the frames thing in a deep sense, but i prefer 2d

3D is CG, kinda interchangeable. Frames, are basically the images you see when you pause. Whatever appears on screen is a frame.
If you notice some kind of a lag between each frame, it's a frame rate drop. The problem with 3D, is that you need a LOT of frames, and that requires more artists and money, and talent.

am i the one not getting this straight. making 3d anime is expensive than making a 2d anime. isn't that the case with anime making?

Sorry that was a typo. I meant 3D. I'll just use CG from now on.

To give an analogy, 2D is like a painting, and 3D is like a sculpture. Cg isn't the same as 2D.

then i got everything wrong. i always thought something else. thanks

It's the best movie
I really liked it and I had to stay up at night to chase the nightmares away back then.
