You have already seen Slayers then? =) And you didn't mind Lina's temper I guess? : D

Besides this anime I would say Ghost in the Shell, Death Note and maaaaybe FMA. I don't know, it is always hard to pick favorites out of all of them. For example I like 5 Centimeters per Second and Voices of a Distant Star a lot, they are among my favorite romance anime; or The Wings of Honneamise, Perfect Blue, Princess Mononoke - ingenious movies, true works of art, putting anything on top of them doesn't feel right; Lucky Star and The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya are my fav slice of life series, it is not as serious as the things I've mentioned above, but I liked both a lot, even re-watched bits and pieces. So what should I do : D

@[Sindar] I ve been skeptical about adding Slayers to my "to watch" list.............Is it good?

I am a wrong person to ask, this is one of my favorite anime for purely emotional reasons; so in short I am biased :P It is a comedy with a lot of action, fantasy settings and 90s graphics and music. It is pretty different from everything you've mentioned on your top five list. I would say you can watch first 2 episodes of the first season and get the idea whether or not you'll like it. They are not the very best episodes of the series, but they kinda represent the mood of the show.

Woah, you've seen almost all of the old it :O Cool. I am sorry if Try disappointed you, it wasn't a part of the original novels and it messed up a lot of good stuff from the original series. But there were good moments in that too. First two seasons though, they are really great ^^
Lina is acting childish and being short tempered at times, but in some situations she can be composed and smart; her relations with Gourry sometimes seem pretty funny too; I didn't even mentioned her weird eating habits and manners in general xD Is that what you found surprising? =)

No way.Slayers try is pretty good too :D

There aren't many series where we find a female as a protagonist .So I find this series quite interesting :)

The way she refers gourry as "jelly fish" brain and the way he acts is surprising,to me :)

Ah, okay =) And yeah, that is true. It is interesting that a lot of anime that I watched when I started to watch it regularly had female protagonists, I even thought it was normal and that having a guy as a lead character is unusual for anime : D

There are many comedies and slice of life things with female cast. Lucky Star, Azumanga Daioh, K-On, there are many others too. Also I can name a few action type series too - Gunsmith Cats, Nausica of the Valley of the Wind, Dirty Pair; also there is a thriller that I watched because Shaurya suggested it to me - the name is Perfect Blue. There are even shonen shows where the protagonist is a girl - Soul Eater for example. I mean, it is not too rare a thing =)
Out of all that list I think Nausica of the Valley of the Wind is the closest to what we are talking about, a show with a strong female character, who has to go through a lot and has to keep going to the sake of her believes. It is a cool movie.

@[Star_Of_Hope] Ever watched Kill la Kill, Fate/Zero, Ghost in the Shell?

Did you watch Kill la Kill?

@[Star_Of_Hope] Well, Fate/zero has two protagonists, and one of them is female.............

@[Sindar] I have watched 3 ep...........It is kind of okay so far..........But the animation is ancient, not that I care about it.............

It is very stylistic, but I wouldn't say the animation is bad. From what I know people who worked on it also made a lot of other strange looking shows with really good but unusual animation. I didn't get the feeling that it looks old though.

I don't think scarlet is one of the main protagonists :D
It's my opinion anyway.

@[Star_Of_Hope] She is, in my opinion..........

@[Sindar] So, have you watched it(completely)? How good is it, in your opinion?
