Would you guys count these as anime tv shows? What makes it anime?

hey everyone I have always wondered if these counted as anime tv shows. 

Dragon ball z
Pokemon
Digimon
Yugioh
Naruto

These were the shows i use to always watch growing up, didnt know if these would count as anime tv series.

what makes it an anime tv show and not a cartoon/animation show?

Anime just means cartoon from Japan, so if it’s from Japan, it’s an anime.

All of those shows you listed are from Japan, so that makes them anime.

All these are classed as Anime tv shows. I believe anime is just Japanese Animation and all of these were created in Japan so are very much counted. I think @Grungie explained this the other day in more detail but i may be wrong

Yeah I guess that kind of makes sense however sometimes you get that you’re not a real anime watcher vibe from some anime communities lol

Ah don't listen to them. Most of them pretend this anime that has only been watched 7 times in it's life that no one has heard of is their favourite and just mock anyone that's into mainstream stuff. You do you, we don't judge people

It’s just stupid gatekeeping stuff, because those shows are “normie” tier, they “don’t count”. It’s like how some people think Call of Duty or Madden don’t count as video games.
