Why do some people don't rate anime?

i know they give importance to plot and they want to see for themselves what an anime can offer but i still don't get it at the end.
what's wrong with rating?

I used to take the time to rate things, but now this world is just full of bots making reviews and companies deleting reviews they don't like. Major rating sites like Rotten Tomatoes and such have even nuked the pages of items as the reviews didn't fit what they thought the item deserved, plus most real ratings seem to be left by people who disliked the item and want to complain about it, so they are almost always shifted towards a lower rating than what people truly would place. I generally don't even read ratings anymore as I got tired of why the plot of ABC Anime sucked due to USPS damaging their DVD in the mail.

many people who like something doesn't necessarily write reviews but if they don't like it, they write reviews half of the time lol

It shouldn't matter and there are many others who vote for an anime.
Many reviews can make an anime look better or worse but the actual anime content can still surprise you

It’s incredibly simple, some people just don’t care to rate a show. They just watch it and go “okay cool, next show”.

Do you rate all media you consume or do you just rate anime? If you’re only rating anime (or specific media), that’ll show your hypocrisy in the whining.

i didn't whine and i rate pretty much everything.
sometimes even my culinary skills or the dishes too.

Whining is complaining over something trivial, so making countless threads over something as trivial as people not rating anime is whining. Especially when you made this thread several times.

as you said it, i searched the forum for the threads.
i see threads about rating but not necessarily about why people don't rate it. there are threads about whether a person would pick a less rated anime, how they would rate, after watching which episode they would rate but there is nothing on why people don't rate anime.

People are free to do what they want.
I used to rate anime but I am too tired and got better things to do than to update my watched list and rate anime frequently. You just become lazy and sometimes you just don't see the point of doing it.
