Why do some anime characters have their eyes closed most or all of the time?

To be honest, I don't get it at all
Why would they do that? I don't think many people talk to others with their eyes closed unless they are blind.

He close his eyes all the time in order to store his power, and when he open his eyes that massive power that he stored burst out eliminate everything

It's just to stay unique man.
There aren't any other conditions for most of these characters. I like them because they are hard to not to notice.
