Why do so many people compare the adaptation to the source?

I am sure it's because they would like the adaptation to be as close to the source as possible.
So, do you think that's how an adaptation should be? What are your thoughts about it?

because that's common lol
it's how the things work and i am sure if an adaptation takes place, then source will get credit too.

That’s just how it is if you’re adapted from something.

Wether or not it SHOULD be accurate varies from show to show. Some has alterations that weren’t that great, and others just have the fat trimmed off.

The latter is mostly complained about by super fans.

lol i agree
and they think whatever it is, if it's from their most favorite series of all time, they wouldn't want the anime adaptation to skip it

I see people complain about that in since of life shows, but did you really miss anything?

It’s happening right now in the fandom for the series Horimiya it’s that’s airing. Sure they skipped a bunch of chapters, but not a lot actually happens in many of them. The guy confesses in episode 4 and they start dating in episode 5. That’s fairly early compared to the manga, but when it’s mostly episodic most of those skipped chapters are pretty unnecessary in the long run.

lol that's funny
and i am sure they deserves to be skipped and i haven't watched it to give an accurate opinion lol but i rust your decisions a lot

Some of them are fun chapters, so I get it to an extent. There was a chapter that had them on a school trip. It was fun, but if all it shows is Miyamura and Tohru being a couple of dorks, it’s already an established fact.

It’s like if they skipped a chapter in K-on, but all it did was show Ritsu doing something stupid, we already know that.
