Why do people assume that anime are hated solely for their popularity?

Some people might not like a few things and that are genuinely disgusting to them where as others may find them interesting.

I don't know.. but i tend to avoid popular thingy, it's not only for anime

Tbh there's two vocal minorities involved in this:

1: people who are vocally opposed because it's popular
2: people who are upset because people don't like something they like

I think Uzkai chan proves this wrong, it was hated before it became popular.

and there are always contradictions when it comes to popularity and anything else too
