Why do most of the anime characters doesn't have lips?

The main focus is on the eyes, so the bottom of the face isn't relevant. Unless she's the sexy one.

Because unless they are doing a close up on the mouth it's cheaper and easier. Drawing lips requires putting a lot of very fine detail in a very small space. It's the same reason that in most scenes anime and manga characters nose appears as a dot or check mark or not at all.

Most of the Asians have thin lips.
It could be because of that.
