Why are Isekai anime not getting more attention like before?

They are still new and it hasn't been a decade when they started making waves but most of the anime fans I know are already bored of them and avoid the genre. What are your thoughts on this?

It seams to me that a lot of anime fans these days are kind of spoilt. Always looking for the next new thing rather then appreciating a well crafted story because they have seen something similar.

Tbh, it has been a decade since they got popular.

Most of the backlash is because how many get released a season, and how many of them feel gimmicky.

Each season, there’s like 4+ isekais, and most of them are new shows, not a returning show. It also doesn’t help that a lot of them have a ridiculous title with a weird gimmick the MC has, so people take these shows even less seriously.

Look at some of these titles:

So when you look at what anime is airing that season, and you see several isekais, and a good bit of them have titles like that, people start getting annoyed.

lol like grung said they are still popular and like kaden pointed out, they are pointless and people's attention span is less than 10 seconds or at most a minute. things change rinko
