It's a self image thing. The writers are trying to get more of the female audience to relate to the female characters in some cases. Other times it's just fanservice especially when they are obsessed with handling other girls big breasts.

Some people just have insecurities about their body. It’s like how some people have social anxiety and others don’t.

but all the bodies in anime are very unique and unless they are featuring a nob or geek they are all the same.
