Which romance do you like more shonen or shojo?

Let's not discuss harem genres here.
Usually shojo are just too flowery and shonen can be bland. So, I need something in between

i would say shonen. and shojo romance is just too slow and too flowery, if you know what i mean.
if it's shonen, then it wouldn't be so slow.
