When / Why did you start watching anime?

For me it was early 2019. My GF got into anime about a year before so i thought i'd try it out and never looked back!

That's cool! I think i came across DBZ around 2000 watching Cartoon Network
 
I saw it on TV and it seemed really interesting. So I tried watching what I couldn't online and now here we are.
 
I've watched few anime of and on since I was a kid but realy got heavy into it in 2003. A guy I knew in collage was always asking me to download stuff for him and I started checking stuff out for myself.
 
I was just becoming more and more aware of it as I used the internet more often, and after seeing it in enough youtube videos I decided to give it a shot. I'm pretty sure my first anime was Azumangah Daioh. This would have been maybe 2009.

and i am glad that you got into anime. does this friend still keep in touch with you?

not many i know are using much of fb and they are sticking to whatsapp or some other media lol

Us old timers predate Whatsapp and all the other media apps.

lol nearing 37, i am the same too
and i still try to use whatever my close folks are using. there are even anime groups in whatsapp
