What's your opinion about dubbed anime and western VAs?

Personally I don’t care if they pronounce it in an “American” way. Though I think they need to be more consistent with it within the same show. It’s kind of jarring when all the names are pronounced more American except that one character.

Also half the weabs watching the shows can’t pronounce the characters’s names correctly, so is it fare to complain an actor can’t do it either?

no i think not
but most people want this dubbing to be done by people who knows so called proper english lol

Yeah they're not as bad as they used to be, but people still have a hateboner for whatever reason. Just purism I suppose lol, though there are still some bad dubs out there.

I think the ones dubbed by Netflix are pretty god awful.
 
Western voice actors are cooler and they usually know a lot more about their language and would make no mistakes in pronunciation and expressions too in voices.
 
The most important thing is the storyline they are telling. Personally, I find both of them quite good and appealing. I know some people hate them but not me.
 
I mostly prefer dubbed Animes. It's easy for me to connect to the story. Unlike subtitled series, where I have to look out for the subtitles and miss the scene for that.

There's no such thing as pure English. English is a blended language it is made up of many different languages and thousands of barrowed words look it up. That's why it's one of the hardest languages to learn.

The alphabet is easy to learn, but the inconsistencies in spelling, grammar, and such are annoying as hell for even native speakers. Many languages are pretty consistent with pronunciation and grammar rules.

There’s tons of other examples that show how inconsistent it is.
 
They're alright as long as the voice fits the character, i can't point out a specific right now but there's some voices that just don't fit. but overall they're alright.
 
The alphabet we use is not English it's Latin. Prior to the Latin alphabet's adoption the alphabet English used was Runic.

The Norman invasion by William the Conquerer was what jacked it all up. The Normans introduced mixing French into English. If you look at old English tales like Beowulf in their original language, they’re basically incomprehensible to modern English speakers
