What's the limit of Main Character should be in a story without overcrowding the cast

what do you think? almost all the anime doesn't do this very well and we see a lot of main protagonist and not the main cast entirely. what are you thoughts on this?
 
Everyone should get equal screen time.
I am sure so far no anime made this work and only the main protagonist gets the screen time. Like 70% of the screen time
