What makes the first episode of an anime memorable?

what do you all think about it? i am sure it's the first episode that can get people hooked to it the most. do you all feel the same? or do you endure the first episode if you know it gets interesting later?

The SSSS.gridman and SSSS.Dynazenon animes are a perfect example.

Most of the time it's the first episode that can make people drop an anime for good.
If it's good, then it's all fine but not everyone got the patience to wait around until the anime got better after awhile
