Voice actors as singers

You’d be surprised on what technologies they’re behind on. Their live action movies and tv shows (not related to anime) look cheap compared to American stuff, because we have a bigger budget than they do. Some of their music production stuff is still behind.

With autotune, there’s two ways to use it. One way is as a robotic effect, so that’s just applied as a filter. The other way is for pitch correction. You’re supposed to edit the notes that are off to make the singing sound cleaner, but you can be lazy and just slap it on there, and you can hear the note getting retuned in the middle of the performance.

i didn't know that lol
usually i listen to miku's kagamine's and luka's songs and never really thought they sounded off

Those are vocaloids, not autotune

Is it hard to make a vocaloid using one's voice?
As there are so many vocaloids,I never thought of it this way before

Idk about making your own vocaloid, but vocaloids are samples from someone they paid, so it’s specifically a licensed software.

Whereas autotune is a genericised brand name for pitch correction plugins, where you sing and then apply it over a vocal track, then you edit the parameters, or surgically go in and alter all the wrong notes.

oh cool
and would it be too strange that i had to google autotune to understand that? lol

Irl, I figured it was somewhat common knowledge, since people love whining about it, despite not know what it actually does.
