An anime adaptation has been announced for the manga series 'Tokyo Ghoul: Re', the on-going sequel manga series to Tokyo Ghoul, for the year 2018.
Studio details haven't yet been released. More details are yet to come.

I personally kind of liked Season 1 of Tokyo Ghoul, but I wasn't a big fan of Season 2. I was also told by fans that the second season doesn't follow the original manga, so, I'll first check out the original manga series before watching it.

@Claraviolet this may be of interest to you.

Oh.....I hope it is a censored version ._.

You don't like gore? I mean, it's about ghouls, and vampires. Gore is inevitable. I'm pretty sure there's gonna be a censored version. Can't put out blood fountains on Broadcast TV.

Scarlet, right? She's kinda busy with stuff, I guess. I'll ask her.

Oh really?.. Like, was it worse than the first one?...

I thought the first one was fine. But, the second one(at least whatever I watched) had nothing. No plot or character development. Just Kaneki doing messed up things, and random stuff happening here and there. Studio Perriot really dropped the ball there. What's more amazing is that the original Tokyo Ghoul had almost got over by the time season 1 itself was over.

You'd be right to guess that most of the time but this particular anime I didn't find interesting at all.

Well, the first season had serious issues with writing and directing. Like, I still have no clue what happened with that ghoul gourmet summit. Was it supposed to be a 100% real event that looked surreal or was it a mixture or realism and abstraction (like, say, Alice in Wonderland is)? I think I should be able to tell, if the show is made right, I might be wrong. Also the story itself was questionable in many ways, a lot of story lines didn't seem to go anywhere. The Kaneki being tortured was powerful, but they could have made it more powerful still. Lots of other episodes weren't even that memorable, even though there were so many life or death situations, fights and everything... I dunno, not a huge fan. I don't regret watching it, but I don't want to see the sequels.

I agree. It was fine at best for me. I stopped taking it seriously and enjoyed the gore and everything, but the last few episodes went pretty insane. The main issues I had with the anime are the dialogues, characters, and the pacing. Not that it's slow or fast, it felt monotonous. I won't be watching TG: Re too, unless it has good reception. I'll wait for around 6-7 episodes.

Yeah, the last few episodes were interesting. I would kinda want to know what will happen with Touka and her brother, what's up with the Owl ghoul, will Kaneki be able to solve the conflict between ghouls and people. That is only a mild interest though, the anime didn't manage to capture me =/

Don't know about the manga, but whatever I watched of the second season doesn't do all that, so, you may as well not watch it.
