So I want back and finished Violet Evergarden.

I had dropped it early this year when after all the hype for the show for me at least felt like a let down. https://animemangaforum.com/thread-13826.html?highlight=Dropping+Violet  

But a certain AMV made me remember and reconsider the show and watching it without very high expectations it turned out to be really good show. All the talk about understanding feelings which were boring enough to put me to sleep and drop the show for the first half were just pieces in the narrative puzzle.
The backstory episodes and even the regular episodic letter writing episodes got a lot better (I think....or maybe I'm just misremembering how good/bad the early episodes was). I especially liked the final 2 episodes and the episode with the little girl and her dying mother. 

I can see why people give this anime 9s and 10s if this anime connects with you on a deeper level but I've got no feelings and so It's hard to say if they're right or wrong.

Favourite episodes were from 7-10. These include the back-story episodes, and the ones in which she writes a letter for that drunk writer, and of course the mother and the daughter.
Didn't like the last two episodes, the action sequences were just really stupid, on the same level of Steins;Gate 0, except with great KyoAni animation.
The series is mostly hit or miss for me, the art and animation are obviously great but none of the characters felt like people to me. And I never felt this way watching any other anime from KyoAni, be it Clannad or FMP Fumoffu or Maid Dragon. 

Also the special episode they released is nice so you can watch it if you want.

The special IMO felt like they figured out what they wanted to do, apart from of course showing off what a powerhouse their studio is.
Also a movie is coming out in 2020.

Well yeah I did but it wasn't that much. And considering the whole point of the show was to make you feel it was slightly wasted on me. I've seen much sadder scenes in other anime and they did a lot better job of making your heart ache even though they're action or some other genre shows.

So I finally got to code geass and I must say that it is freaking awesome. Reminds me of a cartoon I use to watch called Dragon Booster only well it is robots here. I'm really loving this one. Can't wait to get back to it. Thanks to you all for the recommendation. Wish that I had gotten to it sooner lol

If you don't like it drop it there's no point in skipping episodes. Plus there's character development for Violet in each episode so doing that wouldn't make sense.

what don't you like in it?
it's good and i wouldn't say it's the best but i like it how the plot goes on. it's slow at first but it gets better

If it's confusing then I could always drop it at that point.

If you don't like it drop it there's no point in skipping episodes. Plus there's character development for Violet in each episode so doing that wouldn't make sense.
