The "Tower of God Animation Partners" production committee announced on Friday that Korean creator SIU's Tower of God manhwa is getting an animated television series.

The production committee opened a website and Twitter account for the animated series on Friday in Japanese. So far, the staff have not yet confirmed if a Japanese anime studio is animating the project. The animated work's Japanese title is Kami no T?: Tower of God.

The animated work will premiere in Japan this spring. The website for the work teases that the animated series will have a simultaneous release in Japan, South Korea, and the United States.

Is it popular or good?

never heard of this before
or i might have simply forgotten and i want to know if it's popular or good too

Apparently this is based off of a web comic (same as One punch man is) and is extremely popular, to the point that my friend told me people would rage greatly if the animation studio screws up on the anime.

I have been reading Tower of God through webtoon. The app works better on your mobile, but you can read on the computer too. It's a long runnings series with close to six years now. Right now is on its third season so there definitely is more than enough material to start working in an anime adaption and I am very pumped about it.

I am way behind but it is a pretty neat story so far, since I just started reading recently. I'll probably do a horrible job of explaining it but basically the world it takes place lives in the darkness and it is told that to get everything you ever wanted you must enter the tower of God and survive all the tests and keep going up the floors.

Bam is a boy that grew in a cave not knowing much of the world, other than what his only friend, Rachel, would tell him. She wanted to climb the tower of God because it is said up there you can see blue skies and the stars. Usually, the people have to be chosen to become part of the competition in the tower but sometimes irregulars might enter. When Rachel is pulled into the Tower Bam follows her but get separated. He wants to find her and to do that he needs to pass the tests and hope that they can meet in another floor as they climb up.

In his way, he knows some pretty interesting characters like Khun a very intelligent guy. Rak a proud hunter, some Princess of Jahad, etc. There is more to some of the characters than meets the eye and the story keeps invigorated by the different tests, challenging rules and different teammates and enemies that appear. Even behind scenes with the organizers, things seem pretty interesting.
