A lot of companies do copyright strikes if you straight up upload the episode, so people will either mess with the audio by changing the pitch, or they shrink the video down and put a background behind it, on top of messing with the audio.

So I can see why he thinks YouTube is garbage for anime.

Yeah I have experienced this personally.
It's pretty annoying
