With JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind starting in October, I'm gonna watch the first series, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure next month, so that's my recommendation.

ohohoh, you are in for a treat. I know season 1 can be slow and annoying, but stick with it and the other seasons (2, 3 and 4) will leave you addicted.

Season 1 or Part 1? I've only heard that part 1 isn't as good as the rest of the series(which is the first 9 episodes).
I'm still looking forward to watching it though.

with jojo part = season, so part 1 is season 1, part 2 is season 2, ect.

No it's not as good, but it holds a lot of information that you need to know.

Yes but technically the first 26 episodes is a season, even though it has Parts 1 and 2.
Anyway, I'm not planning on skipping it for sure, since as you said, many people told me that it establishes the conflict that continues throughout the series.
