I was hearing a lot of stuff before the episode aired from people who were worried that the studio making it being different was going to ruin something, but this animation looks even better than season 1's. Overall it's pretty much the OPM that I remember. This looks like it might a lot of side characters and less focused on saitama too.
 
Concerns were warranted the trailers looked like dogshit. 
And not sure what you saw but the episode definitely wasn't as dynamic as season 1, there's a lot of fluidity in there, and the colours feel very muted as well.
The episode was entertaining for sure though so if it keeps the same energy at least with this decent animation I think it'll be fine.
 
i going to watch it but just not yet. waiting would kill me and i will pick it up when it's got a few episodes already aired.

If you watch it carefully it's just a bunch of screensaver shots and still-frames and nothing actually animated.
Plus, while Mob season 2 is like on a whole another planet, I don't think OPM and Mob season 1 are any different when it comes to the fluidity. Maybe creatively Mob is a bit better. This is just you know like barely sufficient. On the level of something like JoJo without having the hyper-detailed art.
But I didn't really set myself up with expectation so I wasn't really disappointed.

There is some animation, though really just characters moving their mouths. I get you it looks like they delegated this work to their part time intern.

Yeah lol but probably because of scheduling JC Staff is doing like 789 shows right now.
