Ongoing anime needs waiting which can be very hard.

Don't mind either. With old anime I start losing interest sometimes and with on-going anime I just put it off too long and forget half the story. Both have cons.

That's just not true. 80's anime look 100 times better than most anime these days.

I mean it is. From the 90's actual masterpieces would be Yuu Yuu Hakusho or Cardcaptor Sakura or Evangelion or Cowboy Bebop. Those have incredible animation and still look good today.
